momentary lack of fuel during cornering when the gas tank gets low

SUBARU Some models may suffer from a momentary lack of fuel during cornering when the gas tank gets low. In T.S.B. WVL-22 issued on Oct. 13, the company said that some 2005-8 Foresters and 2005-7 Imprezas might require the removal of a one-way valve situated at the base of a small subchamber in the tank. That, Subaru suggested, would cure the starvation.

protected tire iron

Wrapping your tire iron with heat shrink tubing will prevent
wheel scratches. It does not interfere with the wrench
seating on the lug bolt.

The heat shrink tubing is 1 inch in diameter, and I used less
than 2 inches of a 4 foot long piece (the shortest they sold).

Gas cap discussion

Where do you put your gas cap when re-fuelling ?

1. Let it dangle on its retention strap, against the fender
2. Balance it on the fuel door
3. Wedge it between the fuel door and fender
4. Use a clamp to hold it to the fuel door
5. Hang the strap over the notch in the fuel door engagement clip.
6. Hang it over the pump handle so it is not touching the paint
at all.

?

My VW cap looked like it had been mitre-sawed about 6mm deep,
2mm wide, and the groove could be used for slotting and securing
the cap atop the fuel door.

My MINI had a loop on the inside of the fuel door which received
the threads of the cap and held it in place.

The STi has none of the above as I can tell. The cap can be rested
on the notch, but it often blows off
.
